If you are Selling something…
And you are temporarily stuck… Try this below!
If you’re in sales and you get temporarily stuck…try this:
Slow your roll (role).
Don’t think about numbers.
Stop using everyone else’s templates.
Don’t think about competing with your co-sellers.
Look at the human that is your potential client.
Thoughtfully think about their space and what their role is and what they could possibly need from you to help them and their company become better — through your help.
Stop or slow down the automaton for a bit — Send targeted emails to each person at a time, thoughtfully.
Be yourself.
Get that first meeting by connecting your value to their need.
Ask open ended questions.
Listen.
See the person inside looking for value — the real value as another human.
Really think how you can help them or don’t waste their time.
Communicate how and why.
Be pleasing and be persistent.
(Challenge their assumptions if needed to lead them towards better).
Show them patience and guidance for the long term. Think only in the long term.
Bonus — See if you can meet them in person early on, if possible.
